Tell us all your bad experiences you've encountered whilst on the road.

I was on the bay bridge (the bridge that connects oakland to san francisco, i live an hour from there) and my car broke down but before it did it let out a huge cloud of smoke, well on a bridge there is no where to pull over and i was stopped/ through the cloud behind me i see head lights, well i braced myself for impact (death, my life flashed before my eyes) and my foot pushed on the breaks because my legs stiffend as i braced my self.. I guess the hummer saw my break lights and jerked the wheel and just hit the side of me instead of smashing into me. Needless to say i jumped out of that car (as soon as the shock wore off) because i didnt want someone else smashing into me. A few minutes later the highway patrol pulled up and pushed me off the bridge. I called my aunt who lives in san francisco to come get me. The next day i had my car towed home.

I was on my way home this afternoon when a man just walked out into the road in front of me. I wasn't going considerably fast and managed to stop in time.... loser.

And towards the end of my journey, I took the off-ramp, doing about 90km/h (55mph) when an old man came the wrong way down the off ramp I was on.... I managed to slow and move to the side of the ramp without incident.

I wrecked my last car almost two months ago. It was totaled. Insurance company is still jerking me around and hasnt given me any money yet. Thats a really bad experience.

Sounds like a horrible experience, Nebulous.

My worst driving story involves a break down also. I wass driving back from giving a seminar in Bowling Green, KY. Took the interstate as close to my home as I could, then was on a 2 lane country road. Still about an hour from home. My car just died, it was going 55 miles per hour, then nothing. I checked everything...... Called hubby, he was at work, and had to call someone to relieve him before he could come get me. I was in the edge of someone's yard--no shoulders or anything. It was terrible. He finally got there at about 11 o'clock at night. It was after midnight when we got home.

The mechanic towed it home and said the differential (whatever that is) went bad.

Never been in an accident, but one time on the way to school, the roads were horrible, because they were completely iced over. Okay, so my mom was driving and we were approaching this red light, and then the van just kept going and it was sliding really bad on the ice and we almost wrecked and it wouldn't of been pretty, because we were on a decent sized hill.
