I have a slight feeling there was already a topic on this, but too bad.

What bad habits have you gotten into?

I bite my nails.

Another really annoying one is when I say something, I've got to add another syllable to make sure what I have said is an even number of syllables. Does anybody else have this problem and does anybody know what that habit is called?

Do you count other peoples syllables too when they speak to you? Do you count steps as you're walking up them?

I crack my knuckles, and then I make a farting noise with my hands.

Sometimes I count their syllables and I say Hm in my throat to add another one. Sometimes I count my steps and for some reason I feel the urge to always end up with my last step being my right foot going to the floor, otherwise I have to tap the floor with my other foot. Ugh, it's annoying.

I tend to leave little pieces of trash on my computer table for days at a time. Also got this really annoying habit that I do before I leave to go somewhere. I basically keep pushing and pulling on the front door to make sure all is good and fine.

Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce anxiety, by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing anxiety, or by a combination of such thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions). Symptoms may include repetitive hand-washing; extensive hoarding; preoccupation with sexual or aggressive impulses, or with particular religious beliefs; aversion to odd numbers; and nervous habits, such as constant checking to see if something is locked, checking a device or appliance to ensure it is turned off, opening a door and closing it a certain number of times before one enters or leaves a room.

Hmm, that looks like it there. Damn, is there any way I can stop this thing? I do find it annoying at times, especially after I continuously repeat it.

Well, that wikipedia page seems to have some ideas.

But you might want to see a doctor or psychologist or something:dontknow:

Last part of that quote description might explain a few things for me.
