Lots of games out there sometimes get bad reviews, but are actually pretty fun and probably aren't as bad as people are saying.

The Cursed Crusade. Overall it was reviewed as a mediocre romp through a forgettable setting, where the unmemorable main character and his equally unmemorable sidekick battle nondescript enemies for some unknown reason.

In reality it was a well-written game featuring engaging combat mechanics, a wide variety of weapons/skills (you could mix and match any two 1-handed weapons for crying out loud! Mace and axe? Sword and dagger? Shield and shield? lololol)

Another game I truly enjoyed was Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Got bad reviews simply for "not being Resident Evil" (it was developed by a team outside of Capcom, whose only accomplishments were the SOCOM games of old). Turned out to be a solid co-op shooter that still managed to keep Resident Evil's jump-scares and sense of urgency through ammo constraints. Plus you got to play as a fireteam from Umbrella Corp.

Effectively, you got to be the bad guys.

Devil May Cry 2 made horrible reviews, but I still found joy in it. I was happy when it was ported over the PS3.

- Final Fantasy 13 has been criticized way too much. I found it rather enjoyable, even though I wish Lightning would just walk off a cliff.

- Resident Evil 5 I can see why people don't like it. They were ok with RE4 taking place in Spain, but once RE5 started in Africa, people were getting buthurt about it. Plus, yeah, Resident Evil drifted away from what it once was, a survival-horror series, but I still found RE5 a good game.

- Sonic Colors has been getting a lot of negative criticism because of its story and its writing. If you can get past the crappy writing, then it's still a great game.

- I'm probably the only one here who actually liked Sonic Unleashed.

Aliens: Colonial Marines and Alien versus Predator were two good games despite the horrible reviews.
