Well, everyone knows I have a vbulletin forums. But I do have one major problem. Its eating hell out of my bandwidth..

Its took: 718MB Bandwidth within 5 days.

It will tooken up all my bandwidth within 4 weeks. So I don't know what to do. I thought of converting to phpbb3, or move to hostgator. What do you guys think?

If you own a license then don't go switching to different software immediately...although you could sell it.

Lots of people use vBulletin, therefore there are probably suitable hosts for your forum out there. Look around and see which one suits your needs most.

Well, I did pay for one. But they are now having server issues, sucks when you pay for the wrong host at the wrong time.

So you are asking me to buy a vps, and host it myself?

I think that would be kinda a waste to pay for my own entire host just to host one forum.

Have you been doing a lot work with your FTP program (uploading, downloading, moving things around, etc etc etc) ?

Can you edit the coding? Sometimes even altering the coding can eat up more bandwidth.

Well using your FTP program can eat up a bunch of bandwidth. You forum is new and you have probably been doing a lot of that..

Watch the patterns over the next few months, it just might be more right now because you have been setting things up. VB is supposed to be more resource / bandwidth efficient than phpbb and smf.. I dont know anything about MyBB or IPB though.
