BBC 'regrets Queen disclosure'

I think it's more about her role in government.

Monarchs aren't allowed to interfere (in constitutional monarchies), expressing their views on a matter to their government in private could give the wrong idea.

I honestly don't understand my country at all, in respect of the royal family. We have a democracy, but it's sidelined with a monarchy at the same time. One of them needs to get gone really soon, and I'm definitely leaning towards the royals being removed from power. Although currently they are basically reality stars, what with all the bullshit they get up to. Topless Kate, Will steals an army helicopter and has no charges brought against him, Will (or was it the other one?) getting drunk and naked in a hotel party, etc etc.

That said, I really don't see the issue here. Despite being the queen, she is a person with thoughts and beliefs, and it seems idiotic to say she cannot voice those if she so desires.
