I thought people in Ireland spoke english?

Yes they do.
We do but we also have our own language. It's quite a minority language but it is compulsory in Irish schools.
Oh thats cool, is it similar to english?
Not at all. It is more like the Gaelic of Scotland.
I'll have to look up a video to see what it sounds like. Never met anyone who could speak either language.
