Do you personally buy bottled water? I'm more specifically talking about the individual bottles. Is it justified to pay $1-$3 for a bottle of water?

I live on a farm, so we do have a few 20 Liter jugs of water for drinking, just because our well water is very irony and minerally. However, to fill it is $3/20L. I think it's stupid to buy the individual bottles, as, after all, it is just water, but I'm guilty of it if I forget to bring one.

Do you often buy the individual bottles?

I always do. Mostly because I only drink sparkling water.

I have an artesian well and have it tested once a year. The well water is clean and I have no reason to spend money on water that I can get for free!

The only time we buy bottled is when we're going camping at a campground where the tapwater is a bit rough to drink straight. Then I buy the cheapest case of individuals to drink and a gallon or two for cooking with.

If you read the bottles, even on the sparkling waters, you'll see that a lot of them are from municipal sources (meaning tapwater in a city), although many are filtered, not all are, and when it is made fizzy they just pump CO2 into it.

And many are less pure than even the roughest campground well.

Even the bottled water that are spring water, still manipulated and filtered, so It's not truly natural spring water...

Many bottled waters are just filtered tap water, and don't come from springs.

Not my concern what people wish to spend their money on

I guess it's just a matter of personal opinion. Some people pay much more money for very similar products, ie brand name vs no name. People are willing to pay a premium for bottled water, so why not.

I really only drink bottled water, but I have never thought about the price. :\

I get the 24 packs of water from wal Mart for $3 for work. Cheapest I know of. Beats the disgusting liquid spewing from the drinking fountains there. So I suppose its worth it if you can get a bargain.... Unlike the vending machines at Six Flags where its $3 for a single bottle of water.

Do you have a deposit on bottles?

Where I am, you have to recycle...Well, don't have to. But I've heard you can cop a fine for not using the right bins with everything.

Tap water, all the way.

Tap water up your nose can kill you in a most unpleasant way.

A sinus-flushing device used to relieve colds and allergies has been linked to a deadly brain-eating amoeba.

Louisiana's state health department issued a warning about neti pots - which look like mini watering cans, that are used by pouring salty water through one nostril.

It follows two recent deaths - a 51-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man from the 'brain-eating amoeba' Naegleria fowleri.

It is thought the amoeba entered their brains when they used the devices.

Both victims are thought to have used tap water, instead of distilled or sterilised water as recommended by the manufacturers.

I'm far less concerned about the supposed value of a water bottle and much more concerned with the impact that these types of products have on our environment.

Personally, I've always preferred the taste of tap water (ours in the northwest is quite good) and I've never liked the taste of bottled water. My choice has always been easy and has probably saved me a good chunk of change over the years.

Agreeing is not at all a bad thing old friend, in fact it is one of the greatest of things.

Pff, it happened before. I don't remember what it was you agreed on, but you did.
