Do you eat cake on a plate or in a bowl?

I use a bowl, but that's because I don't want to make a mess, which I'm notorious for doing with foods such as cake.

I used to use a plate, but once I found out using a bowl was much easier, I've converted and haven't switched back since.

I use a bowl because when I eat cake, I have to have a scoop of ice cream on it.

Wow, I never knew eating cake in a bowl was a thing. I always used a plate.

I eat slowly and take my time, especially if I'm on the couch watching something. I prefer using a bowl for my snacks, whether it's sweets or fruits. For cake, I usually use a plate, but if it fits in a bowl, I'll use that sometimes.
For ice cream, I have stainless steel double-wall vacuum insulated bowls that keep it from melting quickly. They were costly but worth it.

I love these bowls! I got them earlier this year, though I can't remember exactly when. They're perfect for cookies or anything that crumbs a lot. I also use them for food, especially salads, but mainly for snacks. I haven't tried putting cake in them yet, as I'm not sure if it will fit well, but I probably will if it does!

I only use these bowls for myself at home. They don't look great for serving guests unless it's for sharing :p

With cake I always eat it on a plate. If I have ice cream with my cake then I'll put the iced cream in a bowl but cake itself goes on a plate.

More and more I'll pick bowls; especially if it's something 'juicy' like some noodle dishes. Or, spaghetti-type noodles that can be cut more easily with a spoon against the side of a bowl.
Bowl is nice for cake or pie a la mode.

Bowls over plates, but it depends on what I'm eating. If it's a lot of small stuff like rice, beans, peas, I prefer a bowl since it's easier to scoop up and won't slide to the side of the plate.
