I will watch the occasional bout, but it's lost a lot of its appeal with the deterioration of the competition since the Holyfield/Tyson era. In fact, I couldn't tell you who the heavyweight champ is.
Which for a former sportswriter is a heck of a statement.
As far as I'm concerned you can put traditional boxing in the same bin as K1, MMA, Ultimate Fighting and so on.
However, you cannot put professional wrestling in there as it has one thing the others lack- Scriptwriters.
