Boycotting Brands

Reddit kept them in business?
Yeah, there was this huge movement in WallStreetBets (I think) to purchase stock. "Investors following the Reddit group bought a ton of GameStop options, and short-sellers had to buy shares to cover their losing bids."

Oh yeah I think I remember hearing about that now that I think about it.

I feel like boycotts only work with MASSIVE numbers, and people tend to prefer convenience and whatever is cheapest. That being said, it's very difficult for boycotts to change anything.

I don't really boycott brands, if you think about it every single corporation in the US has done something terrible at some point. I know Gamestop treats their employees like garbage, but almost every other major retailer has too. However, I don't agree with their trade in system since they rip people off. But if I had to pick one brand or company to boycott, it's gotta be DK Oldies. They are charging too much for retro gaming consoles, and they're usually not even in the best quality either. Just look at this video from Jacob R:

Moral of the story, if you want to boycott something, get a good advertising campaign going so you can have plenty of people on board to make it work! :P

Never heard of that site but after watching the video, I probably wont buy anything from there now.

I have to say that Gamestop has ripped me off worse than any store that I've dealt with. The store in my town had people working there that treated me like I was a joke after a sour trade. The employees I dealt with were disrespectful and lack any kind of professionalism. Call it a lesson learned. It's a big reason why I switched to downloads and buying consoles from Wal-Mart or from the Microsoft store. I'd love to see them go out of business.

Nope. I never have boycotted anything at all just because of a brands dumb take or views.

I am surprised they haven't yet. There is a few locations in my area. Some in weird spots. Literally nobody goes in some of their stores. I wonder how they stay open. They are ghost towns.
