At no point in my life, even when I was under 15, have I ever even thought about demeaning any women in any way, let alone gamers. Granted, when I was under 15, Internet didn't even exist in my country, or at least wasn't publicly available and widespread like it is today, so online gaming was something we only read about in specialized magazines, but my point still remains.
I don't understand the hate. I'd welcome any female to join my team in an online game. Okay, ma'am. Here's a rifle, here's a pack of explosives, there's the enemy over there.

I've known a lot of women who love video games. My girlfriend loves them. She likes PC and PS4.

There are loads of very skilled female gamers out there, female gamers just end to prefer different games than male gamers (not exclusively, there are amazing women that play CoD, Apex, etc.). The toxicity is very true, female gamers get harassed a lot! So it's not a particularly inviting climate, and most will look to different game types.
