Break Ins

My dads house got broken into when I was younger. It was at xmas, they didnt knick anything of any value...oddly enough, but just wreaked everything.

Cost my dad loads in repairing damage. Police came round but apparently wiped the finger prints away saying there was nothing in the house they could use for evidence to catch someone.... In other words they didnt want the paper work.

Ugh, Yeah last december, not the one that just passed. December of 08, these stupid kids were going to rob my neighbors house becuase the kid that lives there is a jerk. But my friend who doesn't live there anymore was there and she scared them away. So what they did is they decided to beak into my house!, they cut a hole through a screen window and got in. They stole of my brother's video games and the playstation 2. fortunatley we got everything back.

My house was broken into when I was younger. I remember being the 1st one who woke up that day. I walk out into the living room and the front door was wide open. Our TV and VCR (which was the latest technology back then, so they were expensive) were gone. They might have took a few other things but the electronics are the only thing that stands out in my memory at the moment.

That's no good. More than things being stolen is the though of a stranger in the house uninvited.

Yes, a couple of years ago. I still worry about my house when we are at work, even though I know it's not likely to happen again, and my house is a lot more secure now.

Nope, fortunately we've been blessed enough not to experience a break in. However, I've had this one guy ask me if my dad was home once, and after he asked me, I told him no, because I thought he wanted to talk to him, but it doesn't appear to be the case. My brother, who's 6 foot something, was in the kitchen, and the door from the garage goes into the kitchen, so I come inside and tell him this weird looking guy asked if dad was home. So, he didn't really think much about it because he was playing this game, but I decided to tell my sister. She went out into the kitchen and when we were about to go out to the garage, when the door opened a little, and I believe they saw my brother, who is tall, and it spooked them off. So the door just shut after having been cracked open a little. Luckily, my sister witnessed it with me, so I instantly went to the door and locked it. After locking it, we both told him what we saw, and he began to take it seriously. We waited by the door and looked out the window, and as we were watching the door, we saw the door knob move, but it didn't open because we locked it. Had we not locked it, I'm not sure if our house would of been broken into or not. Scary thought, but it's never happened again.

Twice.

First time when my mum and dad were still together. We were all home, yet they still broke in and took wallets and jewelry. My mum had heard noises, but she thought it was my dad coming home from work.. even though he was lying right next to her

Second time, me, mum, and a friend of hers came home from a hospital visit only to find the front door locked from the inside. The friend then walked around to the back of the house, and saw two shadows running off. Again, they stole some wallets.

Also, the euro was just introduced, so I had one of each new euro coin lying on my nightstand. They took that too

There was an attempted home invasion at our house once--I don't think that stealing property was on the guys mind. Hubby wasn't home and the guy watched me a while before he tried the front door...... Most scared I ever was in my life.

Nope, I live in a pretty quiet neighborhood, not in the city. Crime is a rarity here..

That does sound scary. You lock the doors during the day?

Good thing.

It was at night, and I did have the door unlocked at first. I beat him to the front door and got it locked. Then I got a pistol. I was never so glad to see hubby's car pull up in the drive in my life.

I didn't have time....there was a choice of getting a pistol or getting the cops. Besides, he was a coward--left as soon as hubby's car pulled up in the drive. He didn't mind breaking in on a 'defenseless' woman and her 2 small children (1 and 2) but didn't want to tangle with a guy less than a year out of the Marines...go figure.

Yesterday my neighbor told me that someone climbed in through her window while she was out grocery shopping. I asked if anything was stolen and she said no. I was like hmm. thats strange, are you sure you just didnt leave the window open? She said No, the door was left unlocked, I locked it when I left. I said Was the screen off the window? She looked at me like I thought she was an idiot.. She said Someone was in my house, I know it! I said Ok, I will keep a look out and make sure to lock my windows when I leave. Thanks for the heads up

.............I dont think anyone went in her house..
