Have you ever broken an addiction to something?

How did you do it?

How hard was it to give that thing up?

Yes.

"Cold Turkey"

EXTREMELY

What did you quit? Smoking?
Yes. I had scoffed at the statement that "nicotine is a harder habit to break than heroin"; but maybe I believe that now. :)

Well its good that you persevered!

I don't think I've been addicted to anything, but carbs :P I need to quit eating so much of those :P

That's a tough one! I think that sweets, candy, cookies, are actually physically addictive for me; and once started I can't deprive myself of another.
But, if/when I can take a 'hands off' approach it unbelievably gets easier to stay away from that stuff. Just gotta take that seemingly important first step. (+ a bit of determination)
I love pasta & varieties of bread, too.

Its easy if you just eat at home home and don't buy the stuff. My problem is getting invited out, or co-workers bringing treats for everyone. Also my partner and daughter always bring junk into this house, but I can't blame them for my poor impulse control :p

Yep; I'm thinking that you are definitely surrounded by evil influence!

I have SOME control over what foods are brought into the house; my husband HATES shopping. :D

True but I have the power to say "no thank you" and not eat it....... Easier said than done! :faint:

I hate shopping too but it was great in the days of facemasks, I'd put in my headphones and have a mask on, nobody would talk to me and I could just get in and out. I guess I am just an approachable person because people ALWAYS make small talk with me whenever I am shopping. I just want to get in, do my thing and leave.
