Do you like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant?

Do you tend to over-eat at these places?

What is your buffet strategy?

I get there when the place opens up and they're still setting up the buffet. I then will take what I want knowing no ones dirty hands or slobber is on the food. I have literally seen people "taste" something off the buffet table, didn't care for it and put it back. :green:

Go in, leave no survivors.

Ironically, I have an appetite in every other place, but I eat very little at a buffet. Very strange. :|

I'll usually starve myself the whole day before going. Leave stuffed and upset I ate too much :faint:

ORDER OF BATTLE FOR CONQUERING BUFFETS.

Skip the "filler", lettuce is mostly water, same with cabbage, do you really want to eat fruit at a restaurant, and so on.

Rice, Potatoes, Pasta are starch and fill you up before you've gotten your money's worth.

Hit the meats in descending order of value.

If you take anything fried, take the breading off, see "starch" for why.

Shrimp are a good beginning, then check for beef, any broiled or grilled fish, then look for pork.

Chicken is cheap and only worthwhile if you happen to like the way it's cooked.

If you've got room for dessert, you've got room for more shrimp.

The pudding is probably out of a can or bag anyway.

I rarely go to buffets, but if I do, I get stuff that fills me up so then I do not overeat, and then I get a little treat type of food like a small slice of pie or pudding. :)

i'm not so carnivorous as doc and like to gorge on the fruits and salads more than the meats, so i go for smaller portions of all the things i like and fill up the plate twice with everything but desserts and then go back for a third plate with the desserts. and yeah, buffet pudding usually sucks, but the better places will have vanilla wafers and sliced bananas in it, so i usually eat some of that too.
