If you could build your ideal home, what would it have in it? How many rooms, bathrooms, garages? Would it have a pool? Maybe a rock fountain or a basketball court. Would you go all out or live modestly?

I think I'd want a view of the night sky and the lights of the city. Sunlight throughout the day wouldn't go amiss either...

Heh me and the babe were just talking about this.

We'd buy one big piece of land, design our own houses side by side with an underground tunnel connecting them.  That way if we ever get into a fight I could be like "Fuck you! I'm going back to my house!" then exit through the tunnel.

Anyway, I wouldn't want anything super big.  Maybe 3 or 4 bedrooms, all on one story so I wouldn't have to deal with stairs when I'm old. Maybe a pool & hot tub out back.  I'd like a large living room with surround sound built into the walls / ceiling.  Kitchen right off the living room with a swing door to separate the rooms.  Large bedroom with a private bathroom.

I would probably build something modest with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bath. Something more modern and contemporary with a minimalistic design that makes cleaning easy like with hardwood floors and whatnot, no extra nooks and crannies. I would like to have a good 2-3 acres of land so that the other houses nearby aren't super close like in a track home neighborhood. I wouldn't mind having two flights of stairs, but no more than that. Two car garage, a kitchen that opens up to the spacious living room plan and a big master bedroom with a walk-in closet. I don't need a pool or anything, but a nice little patio/deck would be cool for outside. I just want enough trees and shrubbery to have privacy, but not so much that it'd be a pain in the ass to take care of.
