Bush was the worst modern U.S. president.

It would seem that the numbers are turning.

Also, define the word modern in your question.

Would you include Woodrow Wilson, whose policies brought you both the Great Depression as well as the first round of American concentration camps.

(for those of you that went to state schools: During WW1 the Wilson administration issued orders to confine young males of German heritage in camps, whether US citizens or not, as well as recent immigrants from that country due to fears of insurrection and sabotage.)

You can start here to learn more about this bit of forgotten, and ignored, US history.

No. He was much better than Carter. If I remember right Carters party had all three main sectors of governememtn; the house, senate, and presidency and yet he still couldn't get anything done.

I think a lot of the Bush hate is over Iraq. It may have been a bad decission but people overlook some of the good things he did like restructuring our national security.

According to the Wall Street Journal the comparissons between Jimmy the C and O are growing.

Comparisons between the Obama White House and the failed presidency of Jimmy Carter are increasingly being made—and by Democrats.

Walter Mondale, Mr. Carter's vice president, told The New Yorker this week that anxious and angry voters in the late 1970s just turned against us—same as with Obama. As the polls turned against his administration, Mr. Mondale recalled that Mr. Carter began to lose confidence in his ability to move the public. Democrats on Capitol Hill are now saying this is happening to Mr. Obama.

Mr. Mondale says it's time for the president to get rid of those teleprompters and connect with voters.

Nay. He's not the worst, but he will always be a target to blame. One person didn't ruin this county for eight years, but let's all put the blame on Mr. Bush because he's an easy target.

First of all Leftover, Coolidge and Harding are much more to blame for the great depression than Mr. Wilson.

Second of all... Bush.

9/11 Happened under his watch, he launched two full scale ground wars with no plans on getting out, passed massive tax cuts including many for the rich with no plan to pay for them, medicare part D with no plan to pay for it, faith based initiatives, torture, using terror levels to get re-elected, getting elected as the product of fraud in the first place, declaring a war accomplished six or so years early, setting up Guantanamo, presiding over the gargantuan expansion of government in the department of national security..... Yeah, he was pretty damn bad.

9/11 had been in the planning stages for at least a couple of years before Bush was elected.

If Mr. Clinton hadn't let Bin Laden go when he had been arrested and offered to the US, it may not have happened at all.

So there is plenty of blame to go around for the Attack on America besides just blame Bush.

Restructering our National Security? Didn't do a very good job on that one don't you think?

We haven't had a terrorist attack on American soil since the passage of that legislation have we? nope.

I cannot blame Bush for 9/11, he was in office for like 9 months and Al Qida even said they were planning that attack for a long long time. 9/11 happened because the USA did not think it could happen and the USA had other things it had it's security agencies doing; like stopping drug smugglers. Bush had to invade Afghanistan because of 9/11, he had no choice had he not he would have been removed from office. Iraq is not that bad of a thing either, Saddam was a very bad man and the USA messed up when it did not remove him before when it had justification for doing so. I agree he had no clear plan for what to do once the USA blew everything up.

I said Carter was worse because he did a much worse job than Bush and had it much easier. He did not have the worst attack on American soil. he had that thing in Iran and screwed that up. The economy was worse under him, and gas more expensive.

Neither are good presidents, just Carter is worse and I think Obama could join Carter because he has yet to live up to all he talked about and he cannot blame it on just the Republicans. The Republicans can get away with what they are doing because a good percentage of the American public agrees with them.

The Democrats wont pass stronger legislation to prevent them immigrants from coming here, and anytime a state does they take them to court. But illegal immigration and terrorism are two different things and I believe all 20 of the hijackers, the 19 on the planes and the guy in jail, all came here legally. I think some had expired visas but that is never going to be stopped because there is 300 million people in this USA and you cannot search everyone for ID because thats illegal.

Also, illegal immigration is down since 2001 because of the added security measures. Lets not forget the added stuff in Canada where you cant get across that boarder easily at all.
Border Control has been so much better under Obama.

Actually, yes, because with the economy still in the toilet, and unemployment rising, the illegals are leaving to find work elsewhere and fewer are coming in.

So. Yes.
Nice excuse, too bad the jobs that illegals are taking haven't been lost during this whole thing (that would be jobs in manufacturing and in the service industry) and the United States is still a million times better than Mexico. Can you admit that Obama is doing something right? Not to mention the fact that he's at least 10x smarter than you?
