Butter vs Margarine

Even though butter is healthier than margarine, I use margarine because I hate my bread ripping when the butter is too hard.

Did you know that margarine is only one molecule away from being plastic!

I have both in my fridge.. Butter for cooking and margarine for spreading on toast, muffins, etc..

Margerine!

I dont use either very often. Only if I'm baking and then I have to buy it specially cause I never use it for anything else.

I only use butter. I've tried margarine but I could tell the difference.

I have 'I can't believe it's not butter' which is margarine, i have never really bought butter that often as Marge is softer and i do not really cook with butter either unless I make a cake x)

We use butter for one very simple reason... we can pronounce all of the ingredients in it, and if worse comes to worse, we can make our own. Nobody here has taken enough chemistry classes to make oleomargarine.

For cooking, we usually use olive oil.

PS- old cook's secret, when cooking an omelet, use a little butter in the skillet when you grease it with whatever you use to grease it. The eggs will taste a lot better.
