why would anyone want to?
I have a wheelbarrow load of absolutely terrible memories.
They make me who and what I am.
So, I'll keep them until there is no other option, thank you very much.

Well when it gets to the point where it's ruining your life and making it difficult to function as a person in your personal life and society, then it might be okay to forget certain memories, but not everyone is capable of paying for the therapy it takes to work through those bad memories.
