Do you have a lot of canned food in your house? What kind of canned foods do you have? Do you prefer fresh stuff instead?

I have a lot of canned dog and cat food.

Most of my food is bought frozen, fresh or I make it myself.

The recipes I eat are sometimes based on canned goods. The only canned soup I eat are the Campbell's Chunky brand because it is the official canned soup of the NFL.

Not a big fan of canned food because they don’t sound healthier to me. I prefer fresh stuff.

But I do have some canned food once in a while, just in case

I don't have much canned food. I have canned tuna, canned baked beans, and canned cat food. I prefer fresh food because it's healthier. Most food I eat is fresh or frozen.

Soup, Fruit, Beans, Peas, Sweetcorn, Tuna etc. Have alot of fresh stuff too - meat, fruit and salads.

Canned, or otherwise 'shelf stable' foods such as dried pasta and grains, are a basic item when you are talking about emergency kits such as a grab and go tote case to use for evacuations, or to use when you have to stay put for a long period of time.

In the area I live in it wasn't long ago that we were snowed in for almost a week, and without power for almost three days. Those cans of corned beef hash, tuna, and seasoned greens came in real handy then.

We are also in an area subject to tropical storms, so I have preached to my daughters that they need a milk crate with stuff in it, including a couple gallons of water, a radio and flashlight and spare batteries, almost all the time.

When it starts snowing, or the wind gets up to about 35MPH is the wrong time to try to put all of that together.

To some degree, they have listened.
