Can't Be Friends

I don't say that to others.
However, several have said it to me. Usually after they make some sort of random wholesale change in attitude and/or lifestyle and go off on a tangent that will most likely land them in trouble, the hospital, prison, or the grave, and I try to talk them out of it.
And, yes, I've seen the obituaries for more of them than I wish to think about.
One of the most recent ones was one of our grandkid's twenty-something year old father who still wanted to 'run around' instead of "being responsible". They said he died of "respiratory complications", instead of the truth, an overdose.
Sad, but true.

Same here.Never had one. I'm on friendly terms with everyone I know.
An old friend who used to pick fights with random people in public and expect me to have his back. I don't want to be associated with someone who puts me in potentially dangerous situations every time I am out with them. There wasn't any one moment in specific, but a collection of moments eventually caused us to not hang out anymore.
When my best friend went behind my back and slept with my current girl friend and than lied to everyone saying that I was this big ass hole who beats women, when obviously the woman I am with has been there for me for almost 8 years. Obviously she would have left me by now if I "beat" her and wouldn't have given me two beautiful kids. At least my ex best friend gave me the opportunity to tell him to fuck off when he wanted to come back into my life wanting to be my friend 4 years later after everything was done. I got his apology before I said that to him. I told him if he apologized. Maybe. Than he did and I said, thanks...have a nice life.
