Can't talk about with your parents?

What are some things that you can't talk about with your parents?

There's a lot of things I can't talk about with my mom. She's religious and I'm not which means we can't go there. She likes to brag about my brother, I don't want to hear it because I have a negative opinion towards him based on my relationship with him. Another problem I have is if I think something is a good, she'll think it's bad. We're almost never on the same page. So I don't tell her what's going on in my life unless it's something I believe she needs to know.

Yes. She doesn't see it that way nor does she get that I don't like being lectured and blamed for everything good or bad that happens in my life. Several months ago, she was complaining that she didn't like that I kept things from her and I told her "truth or a lie, good or bad, I don't like telling you anything." and she got really mad at that comment. I told her one of my reasons is that she victim blames and I'm tired of it.

I've been fortunate to have my parents as my best friends. I can talk to them. For issues we disagree on, we simply listen & "agree to disagree". Wish more people would do that!

My parents didn't keep up with the times nor got into media beyond what they were comfortable with, so there was little I shared my life with them.

I cannot talk about personal issues with my parents, especially about loving someone and the like.

My family issues I won't want them meddling in to it. I will try to sort them out myself
