I've been a part of forums that do both but I prefer non-censorship. At least for things other than straight up slurs.

Although some sites have had straight up kids join and it feels a little iffy.

I don't believe in censorship. However, if you're monetizing the forum with ads, you have to unless you run your own ad network/system.

I currently don't have any word filters on any of my communities. However, if there is ever a time where someone starts using racial slurs or homophobic/transphobic slurs I will start enforcing some word filters and banning accounts. Being transphobic/homophobic is the same as being racist, full stop.

Okay you caught me, that was probably like 2015/2016 with the kids I'm thinking of. Still pretty wild.
