Oldest U.S. black college on verge of financial collapse

(Reuters) - The nation's oldest black college, Cheyney University, one of Pennsylvania's 14 state-run universities, is on the verge of a financial meltdown that threatens its ability to continue operating, a state official said on Wednesday.

Cheyney's student body has shrunk by two-thirds, to about 1,000, since its 1983 peak, and its four-year graduation rate is just 9 percent. A quarter of students never receive a degree, and student loan defaults are high.

If those student stats are correct, they have bigger problems than just those in their checking account.

the destruction of schools and the american youth and education is very real by those that hold worldly power and control... just like the american economy...

the american economy is being destroyed because america is being used for our military to fight other people's wars and issues... like the wars in the middle east...

Our economy is being destroyed because we have no self control on our budget that has created the 18 trillion dollar debt. We give out freebies to millions. We print trillions of worthless dollars that will catch up with us in inflation. Tens of thousands of pages in regulations that have destroyed America's capitalism by stifling free enterprise.


But as for the college maybe they just suck as a college. And this segregation thing of black and white is what America is supposed to no longer stand for. So maybe this is a good thing overall.
