Starting January 1st in Chicago they are going to be letting all of the people out of jail,if someone is living in someone's shed the police will only be able to give them a ticket,they can literally get away with murder and the cops will do nothing about it,it will be up to the home owner what they do to that person,this is so wrong.
 
I hadn't heard about this until now - but just doing a quick search, it sounds like there's a lot of misinformation being spread about this law:

The law eliminates cash bail as a standard, but a judge still can detain someone depending on the criminal charges, or if they think a person poses a danger to the community or may flee.

I won't take a position either way on the law (since this is the first I've heard about it) - but a lot of the things people are saying about it are simply not true.
