I never take my job for granted. You never know in todays economy when the lay offs may happen. I always give 100% and never get in trouble or call in sick all the time. These are things employers look at when they decide who to lay off and who to keep. Jobs are to hard to come by and I'm grateful I even have one!

Basically, it reminded me if my Saturday night in the pub when I was watching to girls behind the bar. Now, I've been looking for months for a job and these two girls took the biscuit.

They were working behind the bar and were as drunk as anything! The landlord was fuming! Now, the pub in question was where I tried to get a job when I lived down here and I did my bar training. So, we know the landlady and landlord well. She's one of my references.

Wow, I can't believe these girls being so drunk while working. I hope they both got a good talking to. That makes the pub look bad when customers see drunk workers. The landlady is a great reference! Have you been looking for a job lately?

I look all the time, but there's nothing! Everything down near us are care home jobs. its frustrating when I don't find anything, and people who I do apply for, never get back to me.

When I was unemployed, I sent out resumes to every place I wanted to work for. Even though they weren't advertsing for help, I did get a call and got the job.

I've tried that many times, but they never keep hold of my CV's for long. And then advertise jobs. I'm sat there thinking 'I sent you in a CV, did you not read it!'

Do you follow up with a phone call instead of waiting for them to call you? That's what I did when I heard nothing back. It shows your interested in the job. Sometimes doing that, it jogs their memory to go back and check your CV.
