@EE: First real night I've had off in a month. I've had other nights off but not really because I was on call. Never fails that when I'm on call, the pager goes off.

Not many since we are short on staff. We alternate pager-free days off between three of us. The other two have children so I wind up volunteering to take the pager. The only time I can't is if I've gone over the allowed on duty hours per week. Happened this time and that's why I'm pager free tonight.

Not true. By law we have to have a certain number of down time hours before we can work. It's a matter of public safety. Don't want a dead tired Paramedic on duty, now do we?

Home from a LOOONG day.



Woke up at 5:30am to get ready and drive over an hour to be in traffic court in a different county (had to take care of a speeding ticket). Then went out to eat at a restaurant for some breakfast. After that we had a day at the theme park. Then the looong drive home (any drive feels like double the drive when you are tired, lol)
