That sucks. How many days off (no on call) do you get??

Supposed to be 2 days a week. Since we are short of staff, it's been winding up to be 1 day per week right now.

Wasn't holding shift on time the first time so I used backspace while letting go of the shift key I'd then pressed, then I pressed 1 again failing to notice I'd let go of shift...

I hope they do too. From what I've heard, they don't expect to hire more staff until the beginning of next year.

The hospital, like many businesses are feeling the affects of the bad economy. The hospital has a huge overhead expense and needed to cut staff to keep running. I'm one of the lucky ones as I still have my job. It's rough but I know sooner or later things will improve. I just have to hang in there and do the best I can do under the circumstances.
