Hello there! Sorry to hear about this tremor. Have you always had this or is it something new?

Have you had it checked out?

Nope, I don't really see what the docs can do, I don't have any other problems relating to it.

I've read alot about it and people with an essential tremor don't just get it in there arms and hands, but they're head, tongue, and legs. My head twitches sometimes uncontrollably but it's only hands and arms that can be a problem.

I know ETs are quite common and I don't want to have to take drugs so i've never thought of bothering a doctor.

Fair enough that you don't want to go see a doctor. I, on the other hand, would want to know the cause of it.

Won't get anywhere then, The cause of ETs are unknown

If an essential tremor occurs in more than one member of a family, it is called a familial tremor. This type of essential tremor is passed down through families (inherited), which suggests that genes play a role in its cause.

My dads hands shook a little when he was younger, but nothing like mine do. His hands don't shake anymore.

Interesting. My friend had a tremor in her left hand but it didn't happen all the time. She went to the doctor and they did an EMG test. They found out the when she moved her arm a certain way, it trapped a nerve in her upper arm. That trapped nerve was the cause of the tremor. They gave her medication but it didn't work. They then did reconstructive surgery of the trapped nerve. The tremor was gone and had never come back. I guess each case/cause of a tremor is different.

Yea I guess so.

I've been looking at some herbal stuff called TremorSooth, or something like that. Sounds quite good and has good ratings, I might see if some of the shops in Norwich sell it. Should think Holland & Barrett would do something similar.

I've also bought a pair of those hand grip things to see if strengthening my forearm muscles helps stop the shakes.

The herbal sounds like a good idea to at least try it. Hand grip also looks like a good idea too!
