I get really nervous around small dogs. I was like 7 when that happened, so I'm basically traumatized. Not as bad as my young cousin though. She has a massive phobia of dogs, and one day when we were on holiday in a town called Tintagel (Best town I've ever visited, easily. They have an entire shop devoted to medieval weaponry, armour, etc. I bought a shield there.) we were walking along and a dog was coming the other way. I had to grab her because she ran in front of a car, she's that frightened by them.

...Holy shit. o_O Did something happen to her too? I hope she's trying to learn to be more careful, although I can say from experience that pathological fears are pretty hard (and frustrating) to control.

No, she just has an irrational fear of dogs. Her family have never owned one and she's never been hurt by one that I know of. It's just something in her mind, like how unlike most girls I find mice and spiders cute rather than repulsive. And yeah, she was 6 or so then. She's 13 now.

Lol, spiders fall in line with my own pathological fears. =P Can't stand 'em! Or most other bugs. But if she's that young then that's easy to understand. Kids don't seem to like dogs at all haha.

Spiders I'm a little edgy with, I will admit. It depends a lot on size and proximity. About a year back during the summer I was dozing off and a spider crawled on my shoulder, I freaked the fuck out. It wasn't a tarantula, but its size could've easily made it one. But once it wasn't actually clinging to me it wasn't bad, I just trapped it in a see-through box and studied it. Same kind of thing goes for mice. My home is in a somewhat rural area, so we get fieldmice and doormice quite often. The first time I saw one freaked me out simply because I couldn't figure out why or how it managed to get onto my desk. Now I'm used to them though, so it's just kind of like aww, how cute. *carries on doing whatever*

There was one pulling a Spiderman on the staircase last night, that was quite funny. Just hanging vertically facing downwards. Unfortunately I didn't have anything on hand to trap it with, otherwise I'd have taken it outside. I'm brave, but I'm not going to pick up a random mouse.

I have a fascination with bugs, and strange animals really. As a kid I'd always be running around the garden catching random insects, though my reason was mostly because I watched too many cartoons and wanted to make them fight to the death. 20 ants in a box with a caterpillar, hilarious.

OH! I'm also deathly afraid of bees and wasps. I got stung on the back of my neck four times by the same wasp, and I still have a lump from it even though it was about ten years ago. So now whenever one comes near me I go into the fetal position, lol.

Oh Lawd. Bees, hornets, wasps...ANYTHING with stingers should just simply not exist. I was stung by a wasp when I was a baby, but thankfully I don't remember what it feels like. XD

You see a lot of mice? JEALOUS. I've only seen at least one...but it was dead.

So I had to pick it up by the tail and take it outside...that was very painful to do! And grossish...but, whatever haha. Do you get any rats?

Weird/freaky organisms ARE fascinating, I'll agree with you. Just at a distance hahahaha. As fascinating as it is to look at a camel spider, I'm so glad I'm nowhere near that sonofabitch. (You should totally google a camel spider if you haven't seen one before. They are so dang freaky.)

Don't get rats often. I did catch one where I work some time back, as nearby building work fucked up the wall outside and let a whole bunch of them in. We found a dead one behind the bread, that was interesting. Thank god no customers saw it.

I have seen the camel spider, but what interests me more is the necrosis its bite causes. Even though it's horrible and really shouldn't exist, it's amazing to see in action. Must hurt like hell though. I think one of the freakiest I've seen is a type of millipede though. An African variant which can reach as much as a meter in length, and can eat bats. Insects that eat mammals is something that REALLY shouldn't exist.

I was really good with science in school, so anything scientific or biological I tend to take an interest in. Like how if you cut up a worm it can stay alive as two separate organisms, or how cockroaches can survive without heads. I like snakes, as well. Not to touch as I did have a near miss with one up-country when I was younger. Remind me never to throw rocks at a snake if it's sleeping on the path. Also water-based creatures. I used to go crab fishing whenever I stayed with my uncle, and one of the most enjoyable things I ever did was examining a jellyfish that had washed up on the beach there. Then someone threw a rock on it and it exploded. Gooey.

Okay EWWWWWWW. Can't believe someone would do that to a jellyfish, sea creatures probably fascinate me the most. Just wondering what lurks down below us is so cool. Would love to go scuba divin' sometime.

I don't think I've watched a camel spider video before, gonna do that right now. XD I've seen a picture of a bite and it definitely makes you go WTF but apparently they're...harmless. I'unno. lol.

...Cockroaches can crawl around headless? How the..? THIS WORLD MAKES NO SENSE.

That's true, Rob. A cockroach can live for 9 days without its head until it dies of thirst. Pretty messed up, ain't it??

NASTY!!

How about the fact that when a mayfly reaches maturity it loses its mouth? Gives new meaning to the phrase life sucks, then you die.

Thanks, and the weather is dull & chilly here. There?

@Alan: The sun is out today but it's chilly outside. It's nice to see the sun for once after all this rain we've been getting!

Hopefully it will warm up for you soon, but I guess not so bad if sun out, and dry.

I am just going to get ready to start watching Liverpool Vs Chelsea FA Cup Final match.

Boogie started earlier today, she finishes in an hours time(6pm here). I am going to fetch her today, and get us a Chinese to eat while watching the rest of the football/soccer.

I am going now, but I hopefully will be back proper later

Wow o.0. Nature sure can be cruel. I remember a few nights ago I went to squash what I thought was a Spider. Turns out it was a Cricket. And amazingly enough, the lil guy survived somehow.

And, Free comics and Pizza. Not a bad way to start the day.
