My motherboard came with some software that tells me the temperature already.

How would the temperature vary between individual cores when they're all on the same little chip?

Well Saydl, that's definitely build for Laptops like you stated, I have holes on the back of the PC case where I could add a fan, but my computer is open anyways.





Evil, did you tried opening your computer case, and see if there are any differences? Also, put your computer next to you on your table. It helped me quite a bit.

And, yeah, they do and I've been looking into things a bit, but I'm not going to buy anything just yet.

I thought about keeping it open, but then I thought about all the dust that'd get in and then I read some stuff about optimised airflow inside the case... Could give it a shot sometime I guess.

As for the table thing, can't, don't have the space. The surrounding area doesn't get warmer than the rest of the room anyway.
