Let me emphasize the word cold in your post, Mrs K.
I just got back from a football game and it was probably in the 40s - I had on (over my short sleeved band shirt) a hoodie and a blanket, plus gloves and I had my hood up.
I'm just glad my band director let us play at half time with our jackets and gloves on.
