Family are deciding to go to McDonalds at 6:30am tomorrow as my partner finishes work there at 6am.

Eek, that's early! I can understand, though, of all of the fast food places, McDonalds does have the best breakfast. lol
It so sucks for him as he is on a gluten free diet. It must be a modern day torture device. He gets sick if he eats gluten.

Yeah, that's truly awful! Having to constantly worry since gluten is in so many of the things we eat. It's a horrible struggle for those with a gluten intolerance.

Then there's me the diabetic. But at least if I eat the wrong foods my levels just go up... I don't end up sick most of the time.

That's the beauty of diabetes in the modern world, it's not nearly as much of a burden as it was in the past. It was a legitimate death sentence before, now we have all sorts of treatments, it's fantastic. Granted, I have the occasional diabetic seizure at times, and that's not fun, but at least it's MOSTLY manageable :D

Yeah, those are a bit scary, but I am very fortunate to live just a mile away from an fire station, so the couple of times it's happened here I have had help almost instantly.

That's scary! I'm glad you were diagnosed and managed to get treatment started. It's hard, but it's absolutely manageable :)

Yeah, they're trained paramedics here, so when they respond to any incident they can render aid quickly. It should be that way everywhere, hopefully it will in time.

Watching the show 9-1-1 is weird because they use the fire station to help people injured etc
Things an ambulance would do here.

Yeah, it's much the same in the UK, the ambulance renders aid, the fire station puts out fires or helps to do various tasks, and the police take care of the other emergency needs. Here they're trained to be fire, medical, traffic control, all sorts of things. It's quite staggering!

Just like in America everyone needs insurance! :o

Oh definitely! It's so scary to have to go to a doctor or a hospital with no insurance. I went in several years ago WITH insurance and still walked out with a bill of nearly $35,000 for a surgery and some minor after care! Took a long, long time to clear that!

Shit... government funds most things here. But that's because we are a small country.
