This is why John is my idol, he's someone I admire and look up too.
He is also a supporter and patron of Dogs Trust a charity set up to help stray and abandoned dogs find their forever homes.

He's never been one to say no to a fan wanting a signed item or photograph. I know this because I've done it. I attended a signing for his DVD once and although he was unable to do photo's for people, he gave me the chance to take one with him. Although he was on the other side of the table, sitting down, he still made the effort to allow me to take one of me with him and I admire him for that.

Indeed it was! It made him laugh, which was great, its what I was aiming for - didn't know I'd even manage it!

I just realised why John wasn't tweeting. If I remember rightly, there is a Torchwood Comic Con in San Diego today and he's flown over to be there with the rest of the Torchwood cast!
