It was okay. She got one for all the kitchen staff, yard duties and me. Yesterday she brought everyone lottery scratchers. She must be in the giving holiday spirit.

Nope but everyone gets 3 weeks off starting tomorrow when they get off work. I got another week of work though, need to catch up on some things. Then I get 2 weeks off!

Everyone is getting paid for the weeks they are off?

No, not them. They get paid through out the whole year though. They take their actual working days (which is about 9 or 10 months of the year) and stretch it out to 12 monthly paychecks.

I am a 12 month employee and I have to use my vacation days to have time off otherwise I'd have to be here the whole 3 weeks (except holidays).

Interesting how that all works. As an incentive not to use our sick days, we get a check for any unused days.

At the hospital they asked employees for suggestions on how to make things better. I was the one who came up with the sick day idea. If you tell employees that if you don't use your sick days, they will not be carried over to the next year, there is no incentive to NOT call in sick. After they implemented my idea, the sick call rate went down drastically. It's nice to know you'll get money at the end of the year now.

Ours roll over and accumulate so I could probably take like 6 or more paid months of sick leave by now.

I have no idea. didn't sleep well last night but also felt like this on Tuesday. Ended up sleeping most of that day.
