Is it TiVo you have? :P

(It's the only US tv service I know of, give me a break :P)

It's a DVR, not sure if the TiVo company has anything to do with it.

Waaaayy back in the day I had an actual TiVo though.

Ah fair enough! :)

I have a Sky box, unsure if you'll have heard of Sky though. (Owned by Rupert Murdoch)

Ive heard uk peeps talking about "Sky"
...I assume that's your only cable company and is nation wide?

It's Satellite TV rather than Cable, and it is nationwide, but no we have a fair few choices to choose from when it comes to TV :)

I think (where I live) there is 4 options. :|

2 satellite, 1 cable, 1 fiber optic

We're starting to get more and more 3D transmissions fortunately, means the money we spent on a 3D TV didn't go to waste haha

Yah? As in the 3D you get when you see a 3D film in the movie theatre or whatever haha

I know what 3D is, I just didn't know that tv companies are putting out 3D programming.

Yeah they are, I watched the Wimbledon Final in 3D at home, things like the Olympic opening ceremony, and other things like that :)

Yeah you have to put glasses on, but the 3D can be worth it :)

It's a niche thing to have in the home though, you wouldn't want to do it all the time, and at the time we bought the TV it was brand new technology so it was ridiculously expensive, it might become more popular as the prices drop.

Maybe I'll be able to afford one in 10 years :P

Although I like non-3D movies (and TV) all the same. Call me old fashioned. :P

No you're not old-fashioned, I often prefer to see the non-3D film over the 3D film as I often can't be arsed with the glasses, the extra cost and sometimes it's a bit of a fad..

Yeah they need to figure out how to make 3D happen without those pesky glasses.

I think they have but it's not as good, I've not read much about it but I know that the technology does exist kind of.

Ah.. Well I suppose 3D tv's are a bit premature to think about buying at this point.
