I was wanting to make my forum when it was first installed MyBB but then I found out all about all this hacking stuff... So I was a bit wary so I went with phpBB. But in the end phpBB is crappy.... I've added as much security to my forum as humanly possible.

Well to a point.

MyBB needs to include all the possible security measures one could implement in their installation documentation. Seems like just following the directions they provide will leave a forum vulnerable ...and thats not fair to their "customers."

I've changed admin directory, hidden admin link, and added a secret pin of 50 characters.
So I should be safeish.

On MyBB forums now except for this one the signature images show as [Image: http://google.com]

Well without google obviously... Even the MyBB support forum

That might be fixed in your settings I think. I see signatures there.

Instead of

It works fine in Chrome but in Firefox and Opera it doesn't work right.

I queried at MyBB Support. It also happened when Enter Username Here had Dump Load on MyBB.

It was an account problem. Although how on earth did it happen in the first place because I was able to see images perfectly fine, then refreshed then cya images.

All fixed now. I had to enable 'Display images in posts.' in Edit Options.

I converted from phpBB 3.1 to a friends IPB license then to MyBB. So it could have something to do with that.

There's probably an SQL query you can run to fix all members settings, make images show up.

I did an SQL that was provided to me by someone on MyBB support forums.

Odd issues that show up post merge.

I know all about merge/conversion issues. This forum has been on 4 different softwares.

When I merged from phpBB 3.1 to IPB everything showed up as unapproved. Did you have that problem?

We converted the phpBB version to vBull, then the vBull to IPB then finally to MyBB. The only real issues I ever ran into was broken BB codes all over the place.
