Random freezing can be caused by many different things including. Overheating, possibly due to dust and debris. Corrupt operating system files. Malware, or even having too many processes running at the same time. Lastly, it's possible that failing hardware could be responsible, but we'll leave that one until all other possibilities have been eliminated.
Start by making sure your laptop is not clogged with dust and dirt. If that doesn't help, take a look at this thread HERE and see if you can identify anything that may speed up the system, by reducing the number of running processes etc.
If that still doesn't help, I suggest you go through these instructions to try and eliminate a malware problem and post the requested log files once done.
You might want to either start a new thread in the computer section here, or register on my forums and start a thread there, as this could take quite a while to solve or work out exactly what the cause of the freezing is.
