Have you decided what you’ll be cooking this Christmas, or are you still figuring it out? :p

We do a Christmas Eve Chili dinner with my inlaws. Then we wake up and have Christmas breakfast. Then, later on, we go to my mom and stepdad's for Christmas Dinner.

The next couple of days is a required hike or bike ride LOL

That sounds like a busy but wonderful day, with food and family time. I agree, a bit of exercise afterward is definitely a good idea.:D

When the time comes, I hope you enjoy every moment and all the delicious food.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my Christmas menu and have already changed my ideas so many times. If nothing happens to change my mind again (which is very possible with me) here’s a rough idea of what I’m planning so far. I’m keeping it simple I’ll need all my energy for New Year’s Eve, when I’ll be doing a lot more .

Some of the Christmas Menu

Meat: Pork chops and lamb cutlets on the BBQ.
I already have these in the freezer, so no extra cost, and all I’ll need to do is marinate them.

Salads:
Beetroot and feta cheese salad.
Wild greens salad.
These are both pretty easy. The longest part will be washing all the greens one by one to get rid of the dirt and roasting the beetroot, but even that isn’t too much work.

Vegetable fritters:
This might be the most time consuming dish of the lot.

Potato and Leek Gratin:

It’s been so long since I made this, so I thought Christmas would be a good time to bring it back. Can’t just have meat and salad, right? Theis recipe doesn’t have cheese, and it’s super easy. I love that it includes tarragon, I found this recipe years ago and it’s been a favourite ever since .

To be continued once I’ve figured out the rest if I don't change:funny:

Nothing fancy. We'll be cooking a turkey and having mashed potatoes, stuffing, and peas and corn with it. For dessert there will be pumpkin pie. :D

Well, I hope everyone had a nice time and enjoyed some great meals.
For some, Christmas is still going, but for me, it's all finished with plenty of leftover food to eat over the next few days.

My menu changed when I realised I didn’t have lamb cutlets, but I had a leg of lamb instead. Oh well, I did have the pork, but there was no point cooking that as I would end up with too much meat, so I only cooked the lamb in the oven.

I went to three places for the greens for the salad, but none had them this time, so that plan went out the window, After that, I changed the other things too, there was no point after that.

So, the menu ended up looking something like this. A few things are missing from the picture, like some dips and a few little items that didn’t need to be cooked, but anyway.
