It was my mother, until dementia settled in, now I'm her full time caregiver and she spends most of her days hating someone she doesn't remember. I suppose the person I'm closest to now is my sister, we talk a decent amount and get along ok.

In my family I am closest to my daughter. Don't really see or talk to anyone else that often.

I'll bet. My grandma went through that and it was very hard on my grandpa. He cared for her until the end though.
That had to have been awful for him, watching the woman he fell in love with become a shell of herself. I know that hurt for me, can only imagine when it's your wife.
It was very hard for him. Also he pretty much draining their savings paying for her care.

Considering my father is like my only IRL friend that I actually hang out and do stuff with, I'd say it'd have to be him. We have a tight bond where we know the ins and outs of each other's lives and he's generally the only one I open up to about my inner demons.

My brother is closest to me. He understands me and listens to my woes. He always makes jokes when senses I am worried of something. Even if he is far from me as an OFW in Saudi Arabia, but we constantly talk via Meta Messenger.
