So, this rant is partially inspired by Facebook.
I have a few of my co-workers on my friends list, and a lot of customers who come to where I work are on one or more of our friends lists, even if they're not really friends. To be honest I think the majority of them are retards, but unfortunately voicing that opinion would get me fired.
Anyway, a status update from a particular co-worker got me quite irritated. I worked with her earlier tonight, and a recent status update from her references that girls gothy shit clothes i wrk with which, obviously, refers to me as I'm the only female under the age of 40 who works there. Kinda irritating considering up until now I thought we were pretty friendly. Joking around when work is quiet, playing Words With Friends etc. Now to add to that, a few people who shop where I work also made similar affirming comments, and in one case a reference to how s2pid I am. Catch the irony?
What gets me is how they seem to stereotype be solely by my outer style, rather than taking the time to understand who I am. Not that I really want that though, and here's why. The two main culprits are both drug addicts. The male I've had trouble with for a long time. Hilariously he's hit on me a few times over the years, and doesn't quite seem to grasp the whole no means no thing. I've had issues with his entire family, as in secondary school his brother attacked me with a cricket bat. Pretty much the reason I took up martial arts and collecting weapons, so that I could protect myself adequately next time. I went to the police and he got a caution and told to write a letter of apology. But I digress.
The male is a weed addict. I don't really care what any of you legalize it! people say, he's an addict plain and simple. He cannot live without sparking up at least once a day. I do wonder how he survived prison. He's unemployed, assumedly because no employer can stand smelling him. But yeah, he strolls around on JSA wearing sports coats and track pants. I find it bizarre that he feels qualified in any way to comment on someone else's sense of dress.
The second culprit is female. I don't know exactly how old she is as her profile is private, but I do know she's been married four times (at least). Again, weed addict. She has 6 kids and claims disability. Funny, she doesn't seem disabled when she's necking Bacardis in the bar. Either way, she's an adult and should know better. Unfortunately it seems, my town is full to the brim with retards. Completely incapable of acting maturely.
