Have you ever sung a song incorrectly? And if so, how long did it take you to realise that you had heard the lyrics incorrectly?

I got the lyrics wrong to "Drift Away," by Uncle Kracker. My friend heard me singing it and corrected me.
 
I think of slips of the tongue when my partner and I competed in the dual singing competition during my high school days. The good thing is that we still won second place.
