Has anyone else noticed how cheap computers are nowadays?

Just few years ago, you'd walk into a computer section at a store and everything would be $1000 or more. $1000 being a cheap low-end computer.

Now its like $200 and up. $200 being a cheap low-end computer.

So why do you think they are cheaper now?

More common, part of life. With more demand, computers have increased in supply and sell at lower prices while selling in greater quantities and on all occasions. It is nothing nowadays to go into Best Buy or Walmart and decide to buy a computer, that's basically what we did a few months back.

Everything is becoming cheaper. It happens with all technology. Remember when DVDs first came out? Blank ones to burn were $35, and DVD players were upwards for $500 when they first came out. Technology improves. When technology improves, the older stuff becomes cheaper, making it more affordable to buy for the manufacturer and the consumer. I'm pretty upset I paid $1500 a year and a half ago for my laptop with 4GB ram, and 320GB hard drive, when today I'd pay about $800. That's technology though.
