computers smarter than people?

I think so - Computers are getting steadily more and more memory and can perform complex mathematics that humans cannot. It's only a matter of time.

While computers do prove to be tremendously more efficient than humans, I disagree with a computer being smarter than a human. The human is the programmer of the computer, and the computer is the programmer's work. All the computers you see today originated from man/woman, a human; therefore, without individuals to program computers and to construct them to perform certain tasks, the computer would be useless.

Well, computers can do much more complicated maths sums that humans, but they lack common sense.

Humans will always be smarter...

No. Computers are just yes or no machines. Humans are more than that. We aren't binary.

No they are not humans designed them, and computers only do what was designed for them to do. Humans can also do things they are not designed to do.

As soon as they can create computers that think for themselves, yes.
