In my considered opinion, Fred Phelps, the 'pastor' of the 'church' (which, incidentally, is made up primarily of members of his own family) is simply an opinionated lunatic, dedicated attention whore, and megalomaniac dictator posing as a member of the clergy.



He is, in short, the Kansas version of Jim Jones.
