Content vs Software

I think the content is the most important. If there isn't anything there that makes me want to post and stay, fancy software isn't going to change my mind.

A forum should be running on whatever software the admin(s) are most comfortable using. Software is meaningless from a members stand point. They all do the same basic thing.

Content is the most important part of a forum. Without any substance, a forum will fail.. No matter what software its on.

Agreed.

Content & community interaction, hands down. I've seen attractive forums using great software with no content. Style without substance cannot create a community.

That definitely gets my vote mate. I concur entirely.

This answer is quite obvious... CONTENT. A forum can look like GOLD, but if all the forums are empty, you ain't getting any members. Likewise, your forum could look like trash, but if you have tons and tons of content it can be popular.
