i have one gripe, and i guess it must be a standard feature cos ive seen it on loads of ipb powered boards.......and thats the large ammount of smilies...........only find about 5% get used by everyone so thats 95% have to be trawled thro every time you need one of the 5%......nit picking i know, but its something that bugs me elsewhere that ipb powered

So admin - can you change the forum to dofollow please? It's in the ACP. Just use that instant search to find it.
 
IPB, yay!!! I'll probably be more active here now, I can't stand VB and usually avoid VB forums. Congrats on the upgrade.

Thanks everyone.. Progress is moving along steadily. Probably about 30% done with my to-do list.

I was asking about that XD But I got it wrong. I put dotcom instead of dotfollow >_< What does dotfollow do?

If you mean dofollow, it's just the absence of the nofollow tag on links. When a search engine like Google visits a site they see the links as votes to another page/site. If there is a nofollow tag that tells search engines to ignore the link - so there is no vote for that site. Dofollow/Nofollow has no impact on rankings for the original site and having a nofollow on some links won't send more trust through other dofollow links.



In IP.B there's a simple option for nofollow

and when it's set to no the links in our signatures and posts are followed. I like it because I'm a webmaster and this helps get more authority to my site

And I have nofollow disabled on my own site as an incentive to members for posting.



The only good reason to have nofollow on would be if you're too lazy to moderate your forum and you don't want a penalty from the search engines when people post links to porn and gambling sites and stuff.

Added a Members Online Today mod. You'll see it on the bottom of the index page under the active users section.
