Humankind is capable of incredible kindness.

We have also shown the capacity to be mercilessly callous. For evidence of this,
look at this gif, which was posted to Reddit on Wednesday:

While most of your judgment should be reserved for the man who doesn't help the woman get the boxed item she desires, some of it should be directed at grocery stores that put things way too high on shelves.

Who can reach that stuff besides the guy in this gif and tall people?! Nobody.

It's also possible the video is a fake since it's strange that there is someone filming the woman in the middle of the super market for no apparent reason. But the man's inconsiderate behavior is sadly far from unbelievable.

Is courtesy really dead?

I wouldn't say it's dead per se, I'd just say it's a bit harder to come by. When you live in a country that is all about me, me, me--I, I, I, and everyone is only looking out for themselves, then yeah you're not going to find too much courtesy among citizens. I find there are still small courtesies, like someone holding the door open for me or if I drop something someone might run to pick up for me. I don't think those are dead, but anything past that seems like it gets a bit more difficult for people to handle.

It seems to be harder to come by, thats for sure.

Does anyone else think the gif above is staged/fake?

i think it's staged...

why did she assume he was getting it for her or why didn't she ask him or a grocery employee for help instead of 'fake jumping' to get something she knows she'll never reach...

i think courtesy is uncommon these days and in some places rare to come by...

i'm still nice, urbanity, gallantry, graciousness and courteous towards people though... so not all is lost... ;)

For this reason, I totally believe the video is a fake.

As far as courtesy, I would say it depends on where you live. In my town, people go out of their way to help one another.
