Do you think credit checks determine what kind of person a company, bank or agency is dealing with? Or are they just a load of crap?

Of course they show what type of person they are dealing with. You're not going to get approved for any type of loan if you have a bad credit report. The higher your credit rating is then the lower your loan interest rate is going be. Also, you get a higher credit limit and get the loan faster.

I have terrible credit.

Because I do not have a credit history with credit cards where I used credit on cards issued by credit card issuers which would give me a credit history with credit cards from credit card issuers so they don't regard me as a good risk for credit cards because I don't have a credit card, if I had a credit card I could get another credit card and use credit and then run up a huge credit bill which would give me a better score if I paid on the credit card bills.

All I've got outstanding is a mortgage that I've been paying on for twenty years. No car loans, no signature loans, no equity loans. Nothing else.

I have not had a credit card of any description, revolving, bank issued, etc, with my name on it since college. I learned my lesson then.

I have bad credit but that does not mean that I am not going to pay my bills (well the important ones)... Im going to be moving soon and people are going to check my credit and some will deny my application while others might give me a chance. Its stupid. I have a good rental history so that is what they should be looking at.

Ive even heard that some employers will do a credit check on their employee's? What does someone's personal financial problems have to do with their ability to perform in the workplace?
