A member of your family or very close friend has confessed to you that they committed a serious felony crime. Would you turn them into the authorities or keep it a secret? Please explain your answer.

I would keep it a secret. They're my friend/family I wouldn't stab them in the back.

I believe everyone should be held accountable for their actions. If they did it once and got away with it, who's to say they won't do it again. I would definately turn them in and let the court decide guilty or innocent. I could never live with myself knowing this information and not acting on it.

That depends on the crime. According to wikipedia drug use is considered a felony and I'm sure as hell not going to turn them in because they snorted some coke. And vandalism, I know a lot of people who are in the graffiti scene, I wouldn't turn them in though.

If we're talking about rape, murder, robbery or other of the more serious felonies, I probably would. If they did any of that I wouldn't consider them a friend anyway.

I never experienced it so I'm unsure how I would act in that situation, but I would figure I would try to convince them to turn themselves in. If that fails, considering they are close to me, I would tell them very clearly what I would do, and hope that they understand.
