Cures for Mouth Ulcer

I have a mouth ulcer on my upper lip and it rubs against my gums and stings like hell. It must have came when i walked into the wall the other night and smashed my face.



What are some cures for this? I have to go to the orthodontist tomorrow and don't really want him playing with my mouth when it hurts.

I have found that by using Listerine mouth wash all day, is that it helps take the sting out.
